It’s been more than a decade since “22 Jump Street” turned the very idea of franchise extension into one of its best jokes, ending with a rapid-fire parade of fake sequels, spinoffs, toys, video games, and increasingly absurd follow-ups. Now, in suitably meta fashion, the long-delayed next chapter may actually be skipping “23 Jump Street” altogether.

According to Deadline, Channing Tatum, Jonah Hill, and Ice Cube are in talks to return for “24 Jump Street,” a new sequel currently in the works at Sony Pictures.
